About the Opportunity

Jewel Welding is looking for a full-time Superintendent to work on our projects across the Lower Mainland, B.C.

In this position, you will oversee field operations for steel fabrication and pipeline projects, reporting directly to the Construction Manager. You will be responsible for coordinating project installations, managing workforces, and liaising with both clients and plant managers to ensure seamless project execution.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing field portions of projects, coordinating with project managers, foremen, and crews
  • Leading crews of 3-35 workers, depending on project size and scope
  • Scheduling and organizing workforces across multiple job sites and clients
  • Ensuring timely communication and updates between field crews and managers
  • Overseeing project installations, tracking progress, and reporting on workforce activities
  • Ensuring safety protocols are championed and followed on all job sites
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and addressing their project needs
  • Coordinating work with plant managers and ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Monitoring project timelines, budgets, and cost controls
  • Reviewing and interpreting blueprints, construction grids, and plans
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and training to crew members

About You

To qualify, you will need 5+ years of industrial construction experience, a valid driver's license with a clean abstract, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Projects). Experience with cost control tracking, budget management, and construction blueprint reading is required.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience in steel construction
  • Pipefitting, fabrication, or welding experience
  • Previous leadership experience at the superintendent level
  • Strong understanding of construction grids and steel fabrication
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews across varied job sites
  • Experience in coordinating with project managers and clients
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to understand engineered weld procedures is an asset
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, CSA W59)
